Pavel Žůrek studied musicology at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno (Ph.D., 2017). As a researcher, he is interested in the musical culture of monastic institutions in the Czech lands in the 17th and 18th century (with focus on the Benedictine order, the Rajhrad monastery, Maurus Haberhauer), Czech music of the 20th century (especially Bohuslav Martinů and Jan Novák) and critical editions of music. Since 2013 he has been working as a musicologist and editor at the Bohuslav Martinů Institute. He is a member of the editorial board of the Bohuslav Martinů Complete Edition, for which he has prepared several editions of Martinů’s works.
