Ludmila Hůrková studied theory and history of art at the Faculty of Arts, Palacký University in Olomouc. She received her Ph.D. from the Faculty of Architecture, CTU in Prague (2011–2019). Since 2004, she has been assistant researcher and later associate researcher at the IAH CAS focusing on architecture of 19th to 21st centuries. Hůrková co-authored the publication Umělecké památky Prahy. Velká Praha and is currently working on her texts for Umělecké památky Moravy a Slezska. In her research, she focuses on the transformation of village architecture in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia and on theory of heritage conservation.
