Pražský koncertní život v prvním desetiletí orchestru FOK

We cordially invite you to the lecture from the cycle Dialogo della musica, which will be given by Jiří Hannsmann (Prague) on the topic of Pražský koncertní život v prvním desetiletí orchestru FOK (the lecture will be given in Czech).

The lecture will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 5 pm in the Musicological library IAH, Puškinovo nám. 9, Prague 6.

Téma přednášky vychází z autorovy nedávno vydané monografie, která pojednává o zrodu orchestru FOK v kontextu pražského hudebního provozu meziválečného a protektorátního období. Výklad se zaměří na vliv zvukového filmu a význam Radiojournalu pro existenci orchestrů, představí zaniklé orchestry té doby i působení dobových profesních organizací. Jako významné prameny pro studium koncertního života budou představeny kulturní rubriky tehdejšího českého a německého tisku. Jaké byly vztahy mezi českými hudebníky a jejich německými kolegy? A jaké omyly v dataci a faktografii počátků FOK dosud přežívají v obecném povědomí?

Jiří Hannsmann combines a career as a professional choral singer (currently with the Prague Philharmonic Choir; formerly with ensembles such as Schola Gregoriana Pragensis and the Linha Singers) with work in music management. He graduated in Music Management from the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU) and served for many years as the Head of the Orchestra Office for the Prague Symphony Orchestra FOK. He is the author of the monograph Jak se rodil orchestr FOK 1934–1945 (The Birth of the FOK Orchestra 1934–1945), published in 2024, which represents a fundamental contribution to the history of the institution.
