Josef Suk a Hugo Boettinger

We cordially invite you to the lecture from the cycle Dialogo della musica, which will be given by Jana Vojtěšková (Prague) on the topic of Josef Suk a Hugo Boettinger. Korespondence z let 1904–1934 (the lecture will be given in Czech).

The lecture will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 5 pm in the Musicological library IAH, Puškinovo nám. 9, Prague 6.

Jana Vojtěšková is a longtime curator of the non-musical manuscripts and the Josef Suk collections at the National Museum – Czech Museum of Music, where she systematically conducts research on and facilitates access to key music-historical sources, primarily from the 19th and 20th centuries. Her scholarly work is closely intertwined with extensive editorial activities. She prepared a selection of Suk’s correspondence for publication (Josef Suk: Dopisy o životě hudebním i lidském), contributes to the critical edition of Bedřich Smetana’s correspondence, and has processed significant sources from the Morawetz Collection, including the diaries and albums of Ludevít and Marta Procházka. For twelve years, she also contributed to the disciplinary discourse in the field of music museology and source criticism as the editor-in-chief of the Musicalia journal.
